Zenith of Western Asymmetric Warfare in Iran and Ukraine. Drago Bosnic

By Drago Bosnic Global Research, June 17, 2025 Achieving strategic advantage over your opponents has been at the center of every conflict in human history. In modern times, this is accomplished with long-range strike systems and weapons of mass destruction. However, countries that are at a disadvantage in that regard can opt for asymmetric methods to achieve similar or sometimes even more efficient results. Ever since the advent of nuclear weapons, direct conflicts between global powers have been avoided, as all sides understand there would be no winners in such a war (or at least they did until recently). Thus, the importance of intelligence services and other forms of non-kinetic warfare grew exponentially. The ability to infiltrate your opponent’s state apparatus is of the utmost importance, while maintaining plausible deniability adds to the strategic depth of defense, as the attacker can simply deny the involvement of its special services. The political West has been at the forefront of such operations for years, targeting all of its opponents through asymmetric means, particularly through proxies. This is especially true for Russia, which still has major issues with the Kiev regime agents infiltrating the country and conducting operations of strategic importance. The latest attacks on Russian strategic aviation are a testament to that. It should be noted that Moscow’s services have been quite successful in detecting Western agents as they have decades of experience in doing so. Read more |
The West’s Reckless Militarization and the New International Order
By Stephen Sefton Global Research, June 23, 2025 The unprovoked criminal aggression of Israel and its US and European patrons against the Islamic Republic of Iran is a predatory war against the sovereignty of the nations of the majority world and the self-determination of their peoples. Of course, first of all it is an existential war for the Islamic Republic of Iran, but for the nations and peoples of the majority world, as others have observed, it is a civilizational war which will determine their true independence from Western rule. From another point of view, it is also the confrontation between a vision emphasizing positive solidarity and cooperation promoting the human development of the world’s peoples and the nihilistic greed of Western elites who want to hoard the wealth of the world for their own benefit. From the perspective of the North American and European elites, the developing new world order threatens their customary political-military dominance and their subsequent neocolonial economic control based on centuries of ruthless imperialist aggression. They believed that their political-military and socio-economic system would always be able to maintain the enormous unjust economic advantages derived from their historic crimes of genocide, conquest and slavery. They also came to believe their own propaganda that there is no alternative to the model of neoliberal capitalism and their countries’ consequent domination of the international financial system. “The Final Throes of the Rule Based International System”. The End of the Road? A Course Correction Is Inevitable. Ret. Adm. Cem Gurdeniz
By Ret Admiral Cem Gürdeniz Global Research, June 25, 2025 The world is witnessing the final throes of the so-called “rules-based” international system established after World War II. This system, institutionalized through Bretton Woods, the United Nations, the World Bank, the IMF, and NATO, cemented American hegemony. The post-1990 era marked the full dominance of a unipolar liberal capitalist order. After 9/11, the unipolar order, under the leadership of U.S. neocons and Zionists backed by globalist financial capital, focused on redrawing maps and reshaping geopolitics in Europe, Western Asia, and Africa. In effect, a passive World War III officially began. Around Israel, countries like Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, and Syria were fragmented via balkanization, creating an ever-expanding security belt, while NATO’s membership grew from 16 to 32 in Europe. The post-Cold War unity of the U.S. and the collective West in fact opened the gates to a new era of neo-colonialism. Under the pretexts of exporting democracy, human rights violations, and the possession of weapons of mass destruction, resource-rich states that also opposed Israel were toppled. Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, and Lebanon are prime examples. A new era began when China and Russia jointly opposed this neo-colonial order. Read more |
